The Charlotte was a ship that was stuck in the Canadian Arctic and carried a pipe with a riddle that was a vital clue in finding the Templar Treasure.
Benjamin Franklin Gates, Riley Poole, Ian Howe, and the others find that it is the Declaration of Independence that is the treasure map.
History[]
Ben, Riley, Ian, Shaw, and the rest of the crew were searching for the ship in the Arctic. They later found it, explored it and found the Meerschaum Pipe in its cargo hold. After finding the pipe, they learn that a map was on the Declaration of Independence. Though Ian suggests they borrow it, but Ben knows Ian intends to steal it. Ian and his crew turn on Ben and Riley, Ben lighted a flare and threw it at some gun powder lying on the floor. However, Ian caught the flare, but it burned his hand and it still dropped and landed on the gun powder.
Ian, Shaw, and his crew left Ben and Riley behind as Charlotte exploded, luckily Ben and Riley survived in the smuggles compartment. Ben would later tell his father, Patrick Henry Gates about it.
