Fictional characters

Gates family

  • Benjamin Gates - an Englishman who is the father of Samuel and William Gates. Seen in the book, Changing Tides.
  • Samuel Gates - son of Benjamin Gates. He left London in 1612 with his brother, William in search of treasure. Seen in the book, Changing Tides.
  • William Gates - son of Benjamin Gates. He left London in 1612 with his brother, Samuelin search of treasure. Seen in the book, Changing Tides.
  • Samuel Gates - descendant of Samuel Gates who lived in the late 1700s. He is the father of John Raleigh and Alice Gates. Seen in the book, Midnight Ride.
  • John Raleigh Gates - son of Samuel Gates, lived during the American Revolution. Seen in the book, Midnight Ride.
  • Alice Gates - daughter of Samuel Gates, lived during the American Revolution. Seen in the book, Midnight Ride.
  • Adam Benjamin Gates - son of John Raleigh Gates, twin of Rebecca. In the book Uncharted, Adam and his sister Rebecca journey west into uncharted territory in seek of treasure.
  • Rebecca Gates - daughter of John Raleigh Gates, twin of Adam.
  • Thomas Gates (c1810-1865) - son of Adam Benjamin Gates. In 1832, he was visted by Charles Carroll, the last surviving signer of the Declaration of Independence. He was given a clue to the whereabouts of the Templar Treasure. The treasure would not be found until 170 years passes, when hsi great great grandso ndiscovers the treasure. He was known for figuring out puzzles, and on the night of April 14, 1865, he was approached by John Wilks Booth and another man, with a clue to a treasure. When he realized that these men were traitors, and were still fighting for the confederate cause, he through Booth's diary in the fire. The man shot him and he lay there dying, givign his son Charles the keycode to the clue that Ben Gates will use 140 years later.
  • Charles Carroll Gates (c1855-?) - son of Thomas Gates. He was mentioned in the first film briefly, but is the mai ncharacter in the book, Forever Freedom where in 1872 he meets a freed slave.
  • John Adams Gates (c1895-aft1974) - son of Charles Carroll Gates. In 1974, he told Ben the story of Thomas Gates and Charles Carroll and the Templar Treasure
