Oren Bradley is a friend of Jess Valenzuela in National Treasure: Edge of History. He and Tasha were previously in a relationship.
Biography[]
Somewhere in Baton Rouge, Jess, Tasha, Ethan, and Oren himself are participating in an escape room. With their talents, they successfully escape when no other team has. Unfortunately, he and Tasha break up shortly thereafter, and he moves in with Ethan. Later, Billie Pearce has Jess' apartment ransacked, fearing the box of items from the Peter Sadusky is lost, Jess is ultimately relieved to see that Oren had the box and brings it back. Knowing that Jess poses a threat to Billie's success, she calls the young treasure hunter and offers to pay any price named. Jess is noble in her response and says no. Billie, however, ups the stakes and informs Jess that she has captured Oren.[1]
Oren thinks he is about to get a deal on some sneakers, but the sellers aren't that friendly. Eventually, Billie tells him that he's going to be their hostage until Jess makes a trade for his life. The relic from the masonic hall in exchange for Oren's life. A meeting is then scheduled for 3:00 at the USS Kidd. Jess makes the exchange with Billie and Oren is set free. When they approach the MP Sullivan on duty at the gift shop, Oren refuses to corroborate their story, and Billie and her goons are let go.[2]
After leaving the USS Kidd, Jess and her friends regroup to make their next move. They inform Oren about their discovery of the map, and it is Oren who encourages them to keep up the treasure hunt. He then reveals that he didn't back up their story because Billie told him that she would have them all killed.[2]
With Oren and Tasha present, Jess and Liam play the video they found, and they are all amazed to see Jess' mother relate the story of the Mesoamerican treasure. Since they need some clues on where to go next, the group returns to Liam's house to search through Peter Sadusky's clue room. As Oren sees the room for the first time, he is blown away by the incredible artifacts on display. Just before Oren touches one of the items, Tasha reminds him to keep his hands to himself. On the way to Graceland the group devises a plan that is audacious and will need a large amount of luck to help them succeed. The plan works, Oren releases the moths, and while they gain access to the secret room, with photos of the guitar and then escape, it's not enough.[3]
Liam invites Jess and her friends Tasha, Oren and Ethan to Peter's wake, which gives the group a chance to scout the clue room for more facts about the treasure. When he heard that Riley was at the wake, he went go get his books for him to sign.[4]
Oren arrives at the apartment and starts playing with the bug detector which sets off the alarm right away. Tasha and Jess learn that there is a bug planted in Oren's shoe, which Billie has been listening into. Elsewhere, Billie returns to her plane learning that the bug on Oren's shoe was found. Billie then quickly learns from an online video posted by Oren that Jess is wearing her medallion, which represents the Daughters of Plumed Serpent. Jess later brings Liam to Oren so that he can get his tuxedo altered for the evening event. With everyone now having a ticket for the governor's ball, Oren plans to network at the party and pitch his sneaker business. Even though Ethan gave him a list of things he cannot say or do during the party, which includes pitching said sneaker idea to anyone who will listen.[5]
Tasha ends up Oren's place where, the former couple watch Captain America: The Winter Soldier and explain how the relationship between Cap and Bucky relates to their situation, and in the end, the two exes end up spending the night together. Later, he and Tasha end up arriving just in time to rescue Jess from Kacey Hasler. Jess briefly catches Tasha and Oren up to speed, and thus revealing how arguing with Tasha was intentional.[6]
Oren along with Tasha help make her escape from Billie. Despite her protests, Tasha and Oren join her on her trip to Mexico. The group soon find out that Jess is wanted for Sadusky's murder. Ethan arrives at the apartment to find Jess, Tasha, and Oren scrambling to pack. Oren is frantically looking through his shoe boxes, because to Tasha's surprise, he has a fair amount of money stored away should Jess ever need to escape from the authorities. Eventually, Jess, Tasha, and Oren cross into Mexico, and once there they kills some time until prison visit hours begin so they can visit Jess' father. The group finds a convent that traces back to a very important nun in Mexico City. Oren states that a convent would be a perfect place to hide a treasure.[7]
Oren, Tasha, and Ethan are all debating the plan of how to break into prison to save Rafael. Oren is the most sensible as he tries to talk everyone out of the plan. While Ethan and Tasha volunteer to join Jess, and Oren instead says that he wants to go home. Before he goes, Oren offers a hint to the group on how to break into the prison. Back in Baton Rouge, Oren arrives safely, and hopes to hear from Tasha but is met by Agent Ross. Ross is looking for his friends, and though he tries to lie, Ross knows that Oren was in Mexico. Oren is shocked to see Liam at his apartment, and while they are happy to see each other.[8]
Oren and Liam are at the FBI and have told their side of the story to Agent Ross. Oren is wondering if this was the right decision, while Liam tries to remind him that they had no choice. Oren finally admits that Billie kidnapped him and is willing to have a polygraph test to prove his story. Tasha and Ethan are being led into the FBI building where Oren has passed his polygraph test. Telling Tasha that Oren passed the polygraph, Ross looks for help from Tasha, to help Jess. Meeting up with Liam and Oren, they fill in the two about Rafael's plan to sneak across the border with Jess, only to wonder what has happened to Jess and Rafael. Ethan's ex-girlfriend Meena Mishra gets the SOS on her phone from Ethan. Worried that something happened to him, she calls Oren and tells him about the message only to speak with Ethan instead. On Jess' trail, Oren and Liam look through the last gift given by his grandfather. With Oren's help, Liam deciphers the clues left by Peter Sadusky. Wondering where they are going, Oren guesses that it's the Devil's Swamp because he had heard about how it's the Mississippi River's version of the Bermuda Triangle.[9]
Ethan, Oren, Liam, and Tasha arrive at the boathouse only to discover the group has left, Agent Ross is laying on the ground appearing to be dead, and a large guard with a gun blocks their way. Working out a plan to distract the guard, the group is easily captured by another of Billie's guards. The guards plan to shoot the group and dump them in the swamp for the gators. Trying to save Tasha, Oren jumps in front of the gun, only to be saved by the semi-conscious Ross, who has shot the two guards. Oren and Tasha get Ross to the hospital, while Ethan and Liam chase after Billie and Hendricks to save Jess. Oren pulls over so that Tasha can be as precise as possible in saving Ross' life. As Agent Ross gets loaded into the ambulance and Oren and Tasha try to figure out what to do next. Since it will be at least a half hour before a police search team can come out to the swamp. Unwilling to wait, Tasha and Oren head out to help their friends. While the group is planning to enter the ancient temple, Ethan decides that he must go meet Tasha, Oren and the cops and lead them to the temple. While Jess and Liam embrace over their success, Ethan, Tasha, and Oren are celebrating their success in finding the treasure and taking a selfie with the fortune. During the credits, social media posts of the main characters are shown, including Liam's performance, Rafael taking selfies with the treasure, Jess meeting the president (who is wearing shoes designed by Oren).[10]
