Portrayed by Jon Voight is the son of John Addams Gates from New Jersey and the ex husband of Emilly Apleton. They divored in 1975 Their only child Ben Franklin Gates he had been estraged from for years till 2004. The estrangment was becuase Ben believed the family lengend about a treasure beyond treasures which cost Patrick the family fourtune and his marriage till he stopped looking for it. In 2004 he is kipnapped by Ian Howe as insurace so that Ben does not double cross him and taken into Trinety Church where he and Ben actually find the treasure.
In 2007 he will come face to face with his ex wife who he has not talked to in 32 years in trying to clear the gates family name in the Assination of President Lincoln.
