Tasha Rivers is a friend of Jess Valenzuela in National Treasure: Edge of History.
Biography[]
Tasha along with Oren, Jess and Ethan take part in an escape room in Baton Rouge. With all their talents combined, they successfully escape when no other team has. Later, Jess and Tasha talk to Liam, only to find out that there was bad blood between grandfather and grandson. He refuses to take the envelope Jess was there to hand over and doesn't care what may be inside. Back at the apartment, Jess opens the letter and sees the hidden clues in a picture of Peter, Liam and his father Jack Sadusky. Jess enlists the help of Tasha, and the two sneak into the King's Arms Lodge building and find an ancient relic that is part of a clue to the lost treasure of Mesoamerica.[1]
A meeting is scheduled for 3:00 at the USS Kidd. Both Jess and Tasha are reluctant to involve Ethan, so they tell him that Oren is off at a shoe sale. The girls know that they need help and that they should go to the FBI. So, they end up talking to Agent Ross, who is new to Baton Rouge, and when she is asked to meet with Jess and Tasha, she is skeptical of their report. Since neither is willing to give their real names, or file an official kidnapping report, Ross thinks that it is a prank, and Tasha and Jess leave.[2]
Oren and Tasha are shown the video involving Jess' parents, and how they relate to the Mesoamerican treasure. The group then comes to a decision about what to do. While they know Billie Pearce is a dangerous person who will stop at nothing to acquire the treasure. Liam assures Jess that he is committed to the treasure now, and with Tasha and Oren on her side, Jess has decided to pursue the treasure too. Later, Meanwhile, at Peter Sadusky's Home, the group just before Oren touches one of the items, Tasha reminds him to keep his hands to himself.[3]
Liam invites Jess and her friends Tasha, Oren and Ethan to Peter's wake, which gives the group a chance to scout the clue room for more facts about the treasure. Later, Jess is introduced to Riley Poole thanks to Tasha. Eventually, as Liam plays his grandfather's favorite song, Tasha begins to wonder where Jess and Riley are.[4]
Jess and Tasha are sweeping their apartment for bugs because of Riley Poole's warning. While Jess doesn't believe Liam has betrayed them, Tasha isn't so certain. She informs Jess that she hacked into Liam's bank account, and it reveals that Liam has just had a massive deposit into his bank account. Eventually, the two girls learn that there is a bug planted in Oren's shoe, which Billie has been listening into. Afterwards, in order for Jess to get away, Tasha causes a distraction which allows Jess to escape the mansion with the police hot on her trail.[5]
Tasha and Jess argue about Tasha using the "distraction" at the Governor's Mansion to push her political agenda. Tasha subsequently storms out and goes to Oren's place where, the former couple watch Captain America: The Winter Soldier and explain how the relationship between Cap and Bucky relates to their situation, and in the end, the two exes end up spending the night together. Although Jess had figured out Billie's plan, it turns out that she left Tasha a note, so she and Oren end up outside the Alamo when Jess locks Billie in the well.[6]
Jess is making her escape from Billie with the help of Tasha and Oren and plans to cross the border into Mexico to continue the hunt alone. Tasha tries to convince her to stop because if Jess leaves the country, she won't be able to return due to her undocumented status. Despite Jess' protests, Tasha and Oren join her on her trip to Mexico. The group soon find out that Jess is wanted for Sadusky's murder. Ethan arrives at the apartment to find Jess, Tasha, and Oren scrambling to pack. Oren is frantically looking through his shoe boxes, because to Tasha's surprise, he has a fair amount of money stored away should Jess ever need to escape from the authorities. Eventually, the trio cross into Mexico, but when they get to the other side of the border, they have to kill time until prison visit hours begin.[7]
Oren, Tasha, and Ethan are all debating the plan of how to break into prison to save Rafael Rios. In the end, both Ethan and Tasha volunteer to join Jess, and Oren instead says that he wants to go home. In the blink of an eye, Tasha has appropriated some ransomware that allows the group to access the sewer tunnels which connect to the prison. While Ethan and Tasha are questioned by a police officer, and eventually Jess and Rafael make their escape into Ethan and Tasha's van. Ethan and Tasha make their way across the border safely but are quickly arrested by the FBI.[8]
Tasha and Ethan are being led into the FBI building where Oren has passed his polygraph test. While interrogating Tasha, Ross brings up the activist history of her grandmother, and tries to appeal to Tasha by connecting to her family roots. Telling Tasha that Oren passed the polygraph, Ross looks for help from Tasha, to help Jess. Despite Ross' attempt to connect, Tasha is unwilling to admit to anything. Trying to show she is for real, Ross lets them go and leaves her card for Tasha to call her anytime, should she change her mind.[9]
Meeting up with Liam and Oren, they fill in the two about Rafael's plan to sneak across the border with Jess, only to wonder what has happened to Jess and Rafael. The group then realizes that Billie has Jess, and Liam wants to go after them. Tasha has a plan to track Jess' phone, and the group leaves the police impound lot. Tasha soon discovers that Billie has her own private security force supporting her.[9]
Ethan, Oren, Liam, and Tasha arrive at the boathouse only to discover the group has left. Trying to save Tasha, Oren jumps in front of the gun, only to be saved by the semi-conscious Ross, who has shot the two guards. Oren and Tasha get Ross to the hospital, while Ethan and Liam chase after Billie and Hendricks to save Jess. Back in the van, Tasha is trying to keep Ross from bleeding to death. She tells Tasha that Agent Hendricks killed Peter Sadusky.[10]
Still in Oren's van, the exes are racing to get to a city for medical help, when Tasha is shocked to see that Zeke Hudson is calling Ross. Tasha begs Zeke for help and starts to explain what happened. Over the phone Zeke directs Tasha to stab Ross in the chest with something sharp and hollow because that will relieve the tension in her chest and allow her to breathe. Tasha finds an ecofriendly metal straw, and Oren pulls over so that Tasha can be as precise as possible. Over the phone Zeke tries to prepare Tasha for the procedure, but Tasha doesn't wait and does it quickly.[10]
Agent Ross gets loaded into the ambulance and Oren and Tasha try to figure out what to do next. Since it will be at least a half hour before a police search team can come out to the swamp. Unwilling to wait, Tasha and Oren head out to help their friends. While the group is planning to enter the ancient temple, Ethan decides that he must go meet Tasha, Oren and the cops and lead them to the temple. While Jess and Liam embrace over their success, Ethan, Tasha, and Oren are celebrating their success in finding the treasure and taking a selfie with the fortune. Afterwards, Rafael, Tasha, Oren, Ethan, and Jess are looking at a portrait of Jess' mom, drawn by Rafael, when Liam joins them.[10]
