This article is a timeline of events in the National Treasure series.
- 1519 - Hernán Cortés leads an attack on Aztec Empire, Montezuma's Treasure is moved away secretly.
- 1527 - Narváez expedition wrecks on coast of Florida, one of the four survivors Esteban was shown the City of Gold Cíbola.
- 1612 - Brothers William Gates and Samuel Thomas Gates depart London in search of treasure.
- 1722, June 8 - Benjamin Franklin writes Silence Dogood Letters.
- 1770s - During the American Revolution, John Raleigh Gates searches for a treasure to help the Patriot cause.
- 1778, September 20 - Mount Vernon Map drawn by George Washington.
- 1792, April 3 - George Washington starts the Book of Secrets.
- 1812 - Charles Carroll met a unknown person in an estate, which Benjamin Franklin Gates later bought for that reason.
- 1803 - Adam and Eleanor Gates, children of John Raleigh Gates, journey west into uncharted territory in search of treasure.
- 1832 - Thomas Gates (son of Adam) is given the only surviving clue to the Templar Treasure by Charles Carroll.
- 1848 - Thomas Gates convinces his younger brother, James Gates, that there is treasure out west. James then journeys west and takes part in the California Gold Rush.
- 1864 February 6 - Queen Victoria letter to General Albert Pike.
- 1865, April - Queen Victoria sends two more missives to Albert Pike.
- 1865, April 14 - Thomas Gates is visited by John Wilkes Booth and Michael O'Laughlen, who want him to decode a Playfair Cipher. When Thomas realizes there men are traitors, he burns Booth's diary in the fire and is shot to death afterward. President Abraham Lincoln is also killed by John Wilkes Booth.
- 1872 - Charles Gates befriends a freed slave.
- 1876 - Édouard Laboulaye left behind a clue in the French Statue of Liberty.
- 1880 - Malcolm Gilvary crafts the hidden compartments in the two Resolute Desks to hide Wood Carvings. The desks are given to Queen of England and President of United States.
- 1924 - Calvin Coolidge finds a wooden Blank in the Resolute Desk, destroys the blank and then orders the destruction of Black Hills.
- 1938 - Peter Sadusky was born.
- 1965, May - Benjamin Franklin Gates is born.
- 1974 - John Gates tells his grandson, Benjamin Franklin Gates, about the Templar Treasure.
- 1975 - Patrick and Emily Gates get a divorce.
- 1978 - Mitch Wilkinson graduated from Virginia Military Institute.
- 1999, May 1 - Manuela Valenzuela defends her Thesis.
- 1999, December 8 - Rafael Rios is now married to Manuela who is pregnant with Jess Valenzuela.
- 2000, May 5 - Jess Valenzuela is born.
- 2001 - Aztec Relic is found by Rafael Rios in Mexico City, and taken by his wife to USA to Peter Sadusky, who hides it in King's Arms Lodge.
- 2002 - Ben Gates hires Ian Howe to help in finance an expedition to find the Charlotte.
- 2005 - Events of National Treasure.
- 2007 - Events of National Treasure: Book of Secrets.
- 2021 - Manuela Valenzuela dies.
- 2022 - The events of National Treasure: Edge of History.
